Resources, Education, and Employment Help for Milwaukee Fathers

New Concept Self Development Center, Inc. has a strong history of providing credible employment services to men, particularly through the George M. Sanders Fathers’ Family Resource and Employment Center since 1994.  It is currently functioning as the Employment Resource Center (ERC).  Located on the north central neighborhoods of Milwaukee, near downtown, the Employment Resource Center has provided a variety of services to men and their families since that time, including parenting education, relationship skills, job readiness services, case management and anger management classes.  The New Concept Employment Resource Center (ERC) provides job readiness training and employment retention services utilizing a successful drop-in, resource center model, to African American males ages 18 and older, residing in neighborhoods surrounding the “MLK Center” that continue to be affected by poverty, unemployment and the economic challenges of our times. Over several years, New Concept's Fathers'  Resource and Employment Center staff’s reputation for the ability to develop relationships with participants has proven to be one of the biggest assets in service provision to men, who historically are more hesitant to reach out for assistance than women.
