EACH ONE REACH ONE (EORO)

SERVICE: Mentoring and after-school program designed for girls ages 10-15. Girls meet weekly to discuss various topics that can enhance their interpersonal development. Mentors provide additional individual and group interaction for program participants.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: An intense program that emphasizes asset development and prevention education while exposing youth to healthy alternative peer, and community activities.  In addition to weekly group sessions, special activities such as: cultural and educational experiences, career exposure, mentors, tutoring, community service project participation, and individual support are occasionally offered.

FAMILY TO FAMILY (FTF)

SERVICE: Foster a safe and healthy familial environment via assistance and support to new parents, or parents with toddlers.
ESTABLISHED: 1991

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: An in-home based program that provides parent aides to those requiring assistance with fundamental issues such as: household budget management, proper parenting, and the attainment of sufficient affordable housing.

Participants also receive information and instruction regarding resource accessibility, educational activities for children, and developing and maintaining weekly/monthly schedules. We accept referrals from:

GENERAL EQUIVALENCY DIPLOMA (GED)

General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
SERVICE: Provide test preparation assistance to Milwaukee County residents seeking a General Equivalence Diploma (GED).
ESTABLISHED: 2004
FUNDING SOURCE: Public Service Commission/MATC
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: On-going GED test preparation classes are offered Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Participants work on skills at their own pace with the assistance of a GED instructor from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Work sheets, practice tests, and computers are available for use. Participants also receive  help with other issues that may impede one’s progression or participation in the program

GEORGE SANDERS FATHER'S FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

SERVICE: Unique program offering guidance and on-going support to fathers and families regarding parenthood and all its concomitant responsibilities.

ESTABLISHED: 1994
FUNDING SOURCE: Community Advocates
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Parenting skills education, avocation guidance, and various community resources that enables them to make healthy choices. Evening anger management, and (day/evening) parenting skills sessions are available throughout the year.
Employment assistance is always available.
Monthly events: father/child bonding activities; men’s support group.

IN TOUCH PARENTS (ITP)

SERVICE: Promotes positive parenting, child abuse/neglect prevention, and repeat pregnancy prevention amongst teen mothers.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Forum provided to enable parent education groups and case management staff to enhance teen parents’ basic needs awareness.

  • Program Highlights: Childcare, transportation and meals are available at various community-based sites.
  • Off-site day and evening parent education sessions are also available.
LEARN-FARE CASE MANAGEMENT & SERVICES

SERVICE:  Learnfare is designed to help children whose parents participate in Wisconsin Works (W-2) to fulfill their potential in life.
ESTABLISHED: 1997
FUNDING SOURCE: Various
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Wisconsin Works(W-2) program which requires that all children between the ages of 6 and 17 are enrolled in schoole while their families are receiving W-2 payments.
The Learnfare case managers act as the liaison between the W-2 agencies, schools and families, make referrals to other agencies and maintain collaborative efforts with those agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.

MILWAUKEE ALLIANCE FOR TEACHING ABSTINENCE

SERVICE: Abstinence educators utilize an interactive approach to deliver the abstinence message to youth. They also provide outreach services, and offer various resources to area healthcare facilities, families, and the community at large.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: New Concept Self Development Center, Inc works in concert with: Rosalie Manor Community and Family Services, Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Best Men (MPS), and Northcott Neighborhood House. This nexus was formed in order to augment outreach efforts and ensure consistency in the (abstinence education) method and message.

HEALTHY MARRIAGE INITIATIVE

SERVICE: Program educators utilize an interactive approach to provide outreach and educational services to promote healthy relationships.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Provides relationship skills and marriage preparation curriculum to high school age students, unmarried or pregnant women, engaged couples and couples interested in marriage.

SERVICE: Support families via advocacy, parenting education, and counseling.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Family recreation center with an array of community resource information, avocation guidance, family activities, and interactive educational services designed to aid families’ progression toward self sufficiency.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES: Day and evening parenting skills sessions are offered throughout the year. On-site crisis counseling and support services.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: Specially trained staff and Parent Group Educators provide human sexuality education to parents, schools, youth groups, professionals, and various community organizations throughout Milwaukee County.

  • The Family Life Education component comprises a structured human sexuality and reproductive health curriculum primarily designed for youth and families in Milwaukee County.
  • The Parent Education component provides the training that enables adults and teen parents to become Parent Group Educators (PGE). The Parent Group Educator conducts the in-home human sexuality and reproductive health sessions.

SERVICE: To support families through parent and peer education.

RYAN WHITE CASE MANAGMENT (HIV SERVICES)
SERVICE: Offers assistance and (non-clinical) support to HIV-infected adults and family members.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES PROVIDED: To the extent that one’s vulnerability to disease or infection has social origins such as discrimination, poverty and ostracism, this program counters these deleterious effects through HIV education (without behavior stigmatization), information on available services and resources, empathy, respect and support. Our knowledgeable staff remains committed to providing the crucial support necessary to improve and sustain the quality of life for HIV-infected participants.
SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION (SVP)
SERVICE: To support youth through , peer education, individual counseling and family life education.
